Size & Fit Guide

Find Your Size, First Try

Almost every style here is unisex — the women’s and men’s columns below describe the same shoe, just stamped with two size numbers. The numbers we publish are insole lengths, not foot lengths: your foot should measure about 1–1.5 cm shorter than the insole figure you order.

Fit tip: The Insole Length column is the inside measurement of the shoe, not your foot. Measure your foot heel-to-longest-toe, add roughly 1–1.5 cm, and pick the insole number closest to that total — that is the space you need past your longest toe. The quickest shortcut of all: pull the insole out of a pair that already fits you well, measure it, and order the nearest size.

Two Different Women’s Fits

Unisex styles — the majority Built on a wide, foot-shaped last with a straight, roomy fit through the midfoot. A women’s 9.5 in a unisex style is the exact same shoe as a men’s 8 — the two size numbers sit on one physical shoe.
Women’s-specific style One style is cut specifically for the female foot: same wide toe box, but a closer, more precise-fitting heel. It is sold in women’s 6 to 12 only and is not offered on the unisex scale.

Fit tip: If you normally take a women’s size and prefer a straighter, roomier fit through the middle of the foot, the unisex styles are the ones to choose — read your number straight off the US Women’s column above. If a heel that holds you more closely matters more than midfoot volume, go with the women’s-specific cut, where your usual women’s size is the right starting point. Either way, size by the insole length, not by the label.

Toe Socks

Sold in four unisex sizes, each covering a range of shoe sizes US sizes

Sock Size Fits Men’s US Fits Women’s US
Small 4.5–7.5 6–9
Medium 8–10.5 9.5–12
Large 11–13 —
X-Large 14–15 —

Fit tip: Size socks to your shoe size, not to your foot measurement — one sock size covers a span of shoe sizes, and the knit stretches across it. If you sit right on the boundary between two sizes and prefer a snug, low-bulk feel, take the smaller one; if you like a little room, take the larger. Sock thickness also changes how a shoe fits: a thin toe sock takes up less volume inside the shoe than a cushioned wool sock, so if you are ordering both at once, order socks first and let them decide any borderline shoe size.

Replacement Insoles

Thickness Options — and What They Change

Minimal — 4.5 mm The closest thing to standing barefoot. Almost no volume taken up, maximum ground feel, and the most room available inside the shoe for wide feet or toe spacers.
Max — 5.5 mm More cushioning and a softer top layer, which also takes up a little more volume. Choose this when a shoe feels slightly too wide or too roomy.

Fit tip: A replacement insole is the simplest way to tune the fit of a shoe you already own: a thicker insole reduces width and volume, a thinner one or no insole at all adds width and volume. Sizes are shared across men’s and women’s, so read the pair of numbers that matches how you shop. If you land between two insole sizes or your shoe has an unusually shaped footbed, buy the larger one and trim it down — every insole can be cut to shape with ordinary scissors.

In-Shoe Toe Spacers

Sized by the width of your foot and toes — shoe size is only a starting estimate US · EU

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

Spacer Size US Women’s US Men’s EU
X-Small 5–6.5 — 32–37
Small 6–9 6–7 37–41
Medium 8–11 7–11 39–44
Large 11.5 and up 11.5 and up 45 and up

Fit tip: This is the one size on the page that is not driven by shoe size. Fit is decided by how wide your foot and toes are and how much your toes already splay — the shoe-size ranges are only a rough estimate. The test is simple: the spacer must not pinch your toes (too small) and must not bunch up between them (too large). Most women and many men land on Medium. If you are between sizes, start smaller and move up as your toes spread. Wear them with the shoe’s insole removed to create the space they need, and build up wear time gradually.

Adjusting Width & Volume

Need more room? Take the insole out. Every shoe here can be worn without one, and removing it gives you both extra width and extra volume inside the shoe.
Need less room? Fit a thicker insole than the one supplied. It lifts your foot and takes up the slack without changing the length.
Which width is a given style? Some styles ship in a single width — a wide, foot-shaped last that suits most feet straight out of the box. Others are offered in both Medium and Wide. The width selector on the product page always tells you what that specific style comes in.
Custom orthotics? Remove the supplied insole and most custom orthotics will drop straight in. Start with your normal size rather than sizing up.

How to Measure Your Foot at Home

  1. 1. Paper and a pen You need a sheet of paper, a pen or pencil, a tape measure and a wall. Work on a hard floor, not carpet.
  2. 2. Heels against the wall Stand on the paper with your heels touching the wall behind you. Wear the socks you plan to wear in the shoes.
  3. 3. Stand upright, weight on both feet Do not sit or lean — your foot spreads and lengthens under load, and that is the measurement you need.
  4. 4. Mark your longest toe Have someone else draw a line at the tip of your longest toe while you keep standing. The big toe is not always the longest.
  5. 5. Measure wall to line Measure from the wall (the edge of the paper) to the line, in centimetres. Repeat for the other foot.
  6. 6. Add 1–1.5 cm and read the chart Our figures are insole lengths, so add roughly 1–1.5 cm of clearance past your longest toe and choose the insole number closest to that total. Size to the longer foot.

Fit Notes Before You Order

  • Start from your usual size. Use the US size you wear most often in other brands — the chart is built around that, not around a size you are hoping to be.
  • These are insole lengths, not foot lengths. Your foot should be about 1–1.5 cm shorter than the number you order.
  • The fastest check: pull the insole from a pair that fits you well, measure it, and buy the nearest size in the chart.
  • Nearly everything is unisex. The men’s and women’s numbers sit on the same physical shoe. One women’s-specific style with a closer-fitting heel is the exception.
  • Between sizes? Go up rather than down — there is no downside to a little extra length in a shoe with a wide, foot-shaped toe box.
  • Sizing preference is personal. Foot width, sock thickness and how much ground feel you like all shift the answer by half a size.
  • Wide feet and high-volume feet do well here because the toe box lets your toes splay — and you can always remove the insole for more room.
  • Socks are sized to shoe size in four bands. Thin toe socks take up less internal volume than cushioned wool ones.
  • Insoles can be trimmed with scissors, so between two insole sizes, take the larger one.
  • Toe spacers are sized by foot and toe width — treat the shoe-size ranges as an estimate, wear them with the insole removed, and build up gradually.
  • New to minimal footwear? The platform is flat and the sole is flexible, which asks more of your feet than a cushioned shoe. Wear them for short stretches at first and increase over a few weeks.

Sizes and insole lengths above follow the manufacturer’s published charts and are shown in centimetres and inches as stated in each column. Insole length is an internal measurement and will differ from the length of the outsole and from your foot length. Measurements can shift slightly between styles, materials and production runs, and a product page that publishes its own figures takes priority over this guide. Sock and accessory size bands are the manufacturer’s published ranges. If you are still unsure, contact customer support before ordering — getting the size right first time beats a return.
